Addison

Addison is a city and a northern suburb located in Dallas County, Texas. Pursuant to the 2000 census the population was 14,166 and in 2009 it was 15,737. Addison was settled approximately in 1846. In 1902 the city named itself Addison, after Addison Robertson, who was as postmaster from 1908 to 1916. In 1953, the city was incorporated . The first mayor of Addison was M. W. Morris. Since 1980 Addison has had substantial growth and it has a huge business district. Addison has more than 170 restaurants and 22 hotels. Addison is a popular place to host business meetings and conventions.
